How to publish a book preview on 360book, step by step

By the 360book team · 10 October 2026 · 3 min read

Publishing a preview on 360book takes about ten minutes if your book is already a PDF. Nothing is installed, and the conversion happens inside your own browser, so the full file never leaves your computer. This guide walks through each step and points out the choices that matter.

Before you start

You need three things: the pages you want readers to see, a front cover image, and a short description. The pages can be a PDF or a set of JPG, PNG or WebP images. If you only have a Word file, export it to PDF first; every word processor can do this from its Save or Print menu.

Decide in advance which pages to share. A preview can hold up to 40 pages, but most books need far fewer. Our guide to how many pages a preview should show covers this in detail.

Open the dashboard and sign in with your email address. You can use a password, or ask for a six-digit code to be emailed to you each time. Readers never need an account; only authors do.

Step 1: choose a design and describe the book

Press New book. The first screen shows six book designs: a classic hardcover, a gilded edition with gold page edges, a paperback, a tall graphic novel, a soft journal and a pocket edition. Each one is a real 3D model with its own proportions, cover thickness and spine, and each preview shows your title as you type it.

Pick the one closest to how your book is, or will be, printed. A novel looks right as a hardcover or paperback. A comic or art book suits the graphic novel shape. Then fill in the title, author name, genre, a colour for the boards and spine, and the description. The description can be up to 800 characters, and it is the text readers see beside the book, so it is worth getting right. See how to write a book description.

Step 2: upload your covers

The front cover is required and the back cover is optional. Both are fitted to the page shape of the design you chose, and a live 3D preview shows the result straight away, so you can see whether the title is still readable when the book is small. If it is not, read our notes on cover design that works at small sizes.

Step 3: add the pages

Drop your PDF onto the upload area. You will be asked which page range to import, so you can take pages 1 to 15 of a 300-page manuscript without making a separate file. Each page is turned into a compressed image about 1024 pixels wide. You can also drop individual images, add a plain text page (useful for a dedication or a note to the reader) or insert a blank page so that a chapter starts on the right-hand side.

The pages appear as spreads, the way they will sit in the open book. Drag them to reorder, or remove any you do not want. A meter shows the total size. If it warns that the book is on the heavy side, remove a few pages: a lighter preview opens faster on a phone.

Step 4: preview, then publish

Press Preview in 3D and turn every page. Look for pages that are upside down, cut off or out of order. When you are satisfied you have two choices. Save as draft keeps the book private, visible only to you. Publish makes it public.

Publishing asks you to confirm the book’s permanent link, which looks like 360book.world/book/your-title. The name is suggested from your title and you can edit it. Choose carefully, because this is the address you will print on bookmarks and paste into messages.

After you publish

Your book now appears in the library and has its own page. From your dashboard you can edit it, unpublish it or delete it at any time, and the Analytics tab shows how many people viewed the page and how many opened the book. The next job is telling people it exists: see how to share your book preview.

What readers can and cannot do

Readers can turn the book around, open it and read the pages you chose. They cannot download anything: there is no download button, and the original PDF is never uploaded. Only the preview images exist on the site. You keep every right in your work, as the Terms set out.
